To Whom It May Concern:

Following a board of team representatives meeting held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, it is with mixed emotions that the Stanley Stingrays Swim Team has decided to cancel their summer 2020 swim season, including the possibility of offering swim clinics at a later date.

Given Phase I and II guidelines provided by Governor Northam and the Commonwealth of Virginia, the continued rise in the number of cases in Page County and other rural areas, and this being the first experience for well over the majority of our swimmers, the board of team representatives and coaching staff are unable to find the needed path to ensure the health and safety of both our swimmers and their families.

A little over two months ago, our team was a dream. Due to the generosity of local businesses, individuals, and organizations our dream is now a reality. Thanks to the continued support for Page County Swim, the Stanley Stingrays Swim Team has purchased all of the necessary equipment to utilize the Hawksbill Pool as a competitive swim facility in the future.

Thanks to the dedication of parents, we will arrive at the exciting first year. For summer 2021, we are already looking for swimmers to jump in, learn the strokes, win ribbons, and most importantly, have FUN!

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this communication, please let me know. Stay healthy and safe.
