Shenandoah River State Park

May 14, 1987 — The Page County Board of Supervisors Monday heard strong opposition to a state park along the Shenandoah River in the Compton area.

Seven area residents said they are not willing to part with family property which has been targeted as a possible location for a Shenandoah River state park.

After the testimony, the supervisors unanimously decided to inform the state that they oppose condemning property for the sake of a park.
