Fellow Citizens:
I would like to thank everyone who helped us honor Veterans at the 24th annual Memorial Festival in the Town of Shenandoah on May 29 and May 31, 2021. All events were well attended, and it was an enjoyable time.
I want to say a special thank you to those who attended the Memorial Service on Saturday, May 29 and the Flag Retirement Ceremony on Monday, May 31. Boy Scout Troop 8 did an excellent job of properly disposing of worn or torn American flags at the Flag Retirement Ceremony. Your attendance at the Memorial Service is a small way of thanking these outstanding Veterans that have done so much for us through their service, and we appreciate you taking time to attend.
I would also like to thank all the Memorial Festival Committee Members, Town employees, Shenandoah Heritage Center Members, and volunteers who work tirelessly each year to make this event possible.
Sincerely,
Mayor Clinton O. Lucas Jr. ~ Shenandoah, Va.
