Train kills cattle

May 30, 1889 — The northbound passenger train on the S.V.R.R. on Monday evening last ran into seven head of cattle, in Darin’s Cut, one and a half miles north of Dry Run, this county, killing six of the number.

They were in a curve on down grade, consequently could not be seen by the engineer till he was upon them. Some of the cattle were knocked a distance of 30 or 40 feet.
