Two Panthers make Washington Star’s team

March 18, 1965 — The Washington Star newspaper published its All-Star scholastic basketball team on Saturday, of last week, covered in the Metropolitan area, Maryland and Virginia.

On the Group II, District 10 All-Star team, two players from the Page County Panthers were picked. They were David Phillips and Ken Burner.

Other players selected for the team were Mickey Payne, of the Warren County Wildcats; Bob Alford, of the Turner Ashby Knights, and Mike Thompson, of the Central Falcons.

Each of the five players named above were outstanding during the past season.
