Weekly YouTube show dives into various issues, sites and events in the Page Valley
By Randy Arrington
LURAY, August 14 — This week we sit down for a conversation with Stephanie Breeden, who has followed in both her father’s and grandfather’s footsteps as the president of the Page Valley Fair Association. We’ll talk about all the details of the 72nd annual Page Valley Agricultural and Industrial Fair, which kicks off Saturday, Aug. 17 with a horse show and wraps up with an Ian Munsick concert on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Breeden outlines all of the main events planned daily at the fairgrounds, as well as how many local youth will be showing livestock, her earliest memories of the fair, and what advice she received from her family on running the single biggest event in Page County.
In addition to learning more about next week’s fair… we also take a quick look at the “week that was” in the Page Valley with a review of news headlines and sports, while also taking a look at “the weekend ahead” with upcoming events on a busy weekend in the Valley.
(Page Valley Livin’ ~ Episode 34 was recorded on Monday, Aug. 12 and first aired Wednesday, Aug. 14).
Coming up on Page Valley Livin’… we’re working on more interviews with local candidates in contested council races this fall. We’re also open to ideas…if you have one for an upcoming show — an interesting person you know (or want to know) with an interesting story — send us an email or provide a comment below.
The aim and purpose of these videos is to provide more information about more things that make up the wonderful place we call the Page Valley of Virginia. Serious issues will be handled seriously, while lighter issues may offer more opportunity to have some fun. There is no theme or agenda other than promoting the Page Valley, and trying to better inform the people who both live here and those who love to visit.
