Weekly YouTube show dives into various issues, sites and events in the Page Valley
By Randy Arrington
LURAY, July 31 — This week’s “Page Valley Livin'” takes us to a local natural resource that is credited with sparking the creation of the Town of Luray — and no, it’s not Luray Caverns; however, when the Caverns cleans out its wishing well, the waters of Yagers Spring do cloud up. Local historian Rod Graves of Luray Caverns will take us through some of the history dating back to 1787, while longtime Realtor and president of the Hawksbill Greenway Foundation Bill Dudley will discuss the details of a 900-foot expansion of the linear pedestrian park to the historic site.
In addition to our exploration of Yagers Spring, its history, and its future potential… we also take a quick look at the “week that was” in the Page Valley with a review of news headlines and sports, while also taking a look at “the weekend ahead” with upcoming events on a busy weekend in the Valley.
(Page Valley Livin’ ~ Episode 32 was recorded on Thursday, July 25 and first aired Wednesday, July 31).
Coming up on Page Valley Livin’… we’re working on interviews with local candidates in contested council races this fall, as well as a preview of the upcoming Page Valley Fair. We’re also open to ideas…if you have one for an upcoming show — an interesting person you know (or want to know) with an interesting story — send us an email or provide a comment below.
The aim and purpose of these videos is to provide more information about more things that make up the wonderful place we call the Page Valley of Virginia. Serious issues will be handled seriously, while lighter issues may offer more opportunity to have some fun. There is no theme or agenda other than promoting the Page Valley, and trying to better inform the people who both live here and those who love to visit.

Nice segment!
I’m looking forward to walking the Greenway up to the new extension one day. The historical nature of this property and the blue springs are so unique to this area that I’m sure it will become a major attraction unto itself.
Ever since I served on the Luray Town Council and promoted the Greenway it’s been my dream to extend the Greenway to Yagers Spring after the Town purchased the property from the Yager family. Hope I live to see it finished! Nancy Lee Ruffner Shifflett.
