LURAY — The Town of Luray and the Virginia Department of Forestry are inviting volunteers to help plant trees along the Hawksbill Creek and the Luray-Hawksbill Greenway to improve water quality through adding to the riparian buffer.
Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, April 2, beginning at the Luray-Hawksbill Greenway Park and Ride.
The event will be held rain or shine.
Volunteers are encouraged to dress appropriately, bring drinking water and pack a lunch for a midday break. Tools will be provided.
Greenway may be extended to Yagers Spring and other news from Luray
The volunteer work day tomorrow has been canceled. We finished the project last weekend.
