Vote Vickers for Mayor of Luray

Letter

Dear Editor,

In regards to our upcoming local election, I find it incredibly important to walk into the voting booth with a sense of confidence and a feel for each candidate’s resume. As a political science graduate and a member of Ron Vickers’ church family for the entirety of my life, I felt I would be remiss not to offer you the impressive and compassionate work he has accomplished within our community.

Ron Vickers has been a constituent resident of Luray since 1985, which has offered him a front row seat to the development of our town and the tight-knit community we all admire Luray so much for. During this time, Vickers has been involved in countless different ways within the community, some of which being: a teacher for 42 years, a member of the Ruritan Club, 20 years of service with Habitat for Humanity, and a devoted member of Luray United Methodist Church.

Additionally, Vickers has been a part of the Town Council for the last four terms, and is currently the sitting Vice Mayor of Luray. Mr. Vickers has continued to impress me as a committed and benevolent sitting councilman, and electing him as the Mayor would be a sensical next step.

Whether it be as a teacher and mentor, investing in the lives of his students while teaching them the importance of community involvement through craftsmanship, or engaging with the citizens of the community through several different forums, his experience has given him a unique perspective on how he can continue to improve and impact the lives of members in our community.

I enthusiastically support Ron Vickers for Mayor of Luray, and I hope you will vote for him as well.

Sincerely,

Caroline Suddith ~ Luray, Va.
