Age 69, Shenandoah, Va.
W. James Smith, born April 22, 1953, aged 69 of Shenandoah, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 at RMH Sentara Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va. following an extended struggle with heart failure.
James was an Assistant Manager at the Luray Walmart for a long number of years until his retirement in November, 2019.
He is survived by his partner of 22 years, Nancy Boyer of Shenandoah; his daughter, Kema Mack Holley of Killeen, TX; a grandson, Xavier; granddaughter, Xandria; and four great grandchildren of Killeen, TX. He is also survived by his mother and father, Mamie and Andrew Smith of Jackson, MS; a brother, Andrew Smith and wife Linda of Stone Mountain, GA; sisters Barbara Smith of Jackson, MS and PK Smith Hightower and husband, Willer, of Atkins, SC. He is also mourned by Nancy’s sons and their families, Jay Earney and Amber and their son, Nicholas of TN, Frank Earney and Tiffane of VA and Eric Woods and Brittany and their daughters Rylee and Alexa of NC.
It was his wish to be cremated, and that no memorial service or celebration of life be held.
