October 28, 1965 — Before a crowd of some 5,000 horse lovers from all over the Country, Bill Sloat of Walkaway Stables, Luray, rode Society Souvenir to win the $1,000 Championship Walking Horse Stake of the Pennsylvania National Horse Show held in Harrisburg, Pa., from Oct. 12-23.

The E.H. Padget Memorial Challenge Trophy was presented to Sloat on Saturday night.

Society Souvenir is owned by Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Palmer, of Great Barrington, Mass., and trained and shown by Bill Sloat, of Walkaway Stables.
