Weakley puts up 54 points in state tournament

LHS junior Emilee Weakley scored 27 points during last Wednesday's semifinal at King William, followed by 27 points in Saturday's state championship.

Luray High School junior Emilee Weakley lead the Bulldogs to two wins in the shortened 2A state basketball tournament last week, including a win in the championship to earn the first-ever state title in girls basketball for LHS.

Weakley scored 27 in both games, for a total of 54 points in the state tournament.

After earning first-team All-State honors a year ago, Weakly is certain to repeat that honor this season when selections are announced soon.
