January 21, 1993 — While the economy hasn’t been the best the past few years, some corporations are bucking the trend — and Wrangler appears to be one of them.

Tenth District Rep. Frank Wolf was in Luray Friday to take a tour of the Wrangler operations on Blue Bell Avenue.

Wrangler Luray Division Manager Tom LaFrance, personnel director Randy Stokes and division engineer Henry Pender were among the officials who escorted Wolf through both the sewing and laundry/ pressing operations.

Wrangler ’s business is up 40 percent and the company currently has 17 percent of the jeans market in the United States.

The company now ranks first in sales among men ages 25 and up.
