July 15, 1965 — I.R. Dovel Sr., 58, of Luray, was nominated as the Republican candidate for the 20th Virginia Senatorial District at a district convention held at the Page County Court House Friday night of last week.
Approximately 250 delegates from the district attended the convention.
The 20th Senatorial District is composed of the counties of of Page, Warren, Rappahannock and Rockingham and the City of Harrisonburg.
