Gary Lee Mayes, 80, of Luray, died on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.
He was born August 18, 1942, son of the late Vernon Maxwell and Florence Irene (Barnes) Mayes.
On March 20, 1971, he married Thelma Aurora (Lemus), who died Jan 9, 2015.
He is survived by a son, Zane Mayes of Luray, Va.; a daughter, Leslie (Mayes) Bailey of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother-in-law who he helped raise, Carlos Ruiz of Luray, Va.; three grandchildren, Nicholas Mayes, Jasmine Ruiz and Daniella Perez; and several siblings.
Services are pending at this time.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
