Governor and First Lady announce Virginia-Specific Graduation Celebration to honor Class of 2020

LURAY ― Governor Ralph Northam and First Lady Pamela Northam, along with Virginia Public Media, have announced a Virginia-Specific Graduation Celebration to honor the Class of 2020.

On May 29, 2020, at 5 p.m., “Virginia Graduates Together” will premiere on Virginia PBS stations and Facebook LIVE. This 30-minute program will feature the accomplishments and experiences of Virginia’s Class of 2020.

This broadcast will follow the program that aired on Saturday, May 16, 2020, “Graduate Together: America Honors the Class of 2020.”   

The segment to air on Friday, May 29, 2020, will focus on graduates of the Class of 2020 in Virginia.

To the graduates, Governor Northam said, “Class of 2020, know that you are a special class. Not because of the pandemic, that has changed the world, but in spite of it.”

All are encouraged to continue to post with the hashtag #GraduateTogetherVA to show your support and help celebrate the Class of 2020.
