Grove gets a patent

December 19, 1889 — Mr. F.G. Grove, son of Mr. John P. Grove, has patented an ingenious device, known as a “link- lifter,” to be used by train men for coupling cars, which greatly lessens the danger of his work. The patent is No. 417,023 and was issued Dec. 10.
