Little League opens

May 13, 1966 — The Luray Little League kicks the lid off on the 1966 season with a double-header scheduled for Saturday, May 21, at the local Little League Park at 2 p.m.

All four teams will see action on this opening day.

The same four teams that made up the league last year will be in action once again: the Senators sponsored by the Town of Luray and managed by Granville Moyer and Carroll Price, the Red Sox sponsored by the American Legion and managed by Julian Bell and Ralph Foltz, Luray Caverns Bats managed by Joe Beer and the Rev. Allen Baltimore, and the Luray Jaycees entry, the Jaycees Jrs., managed by Robert Seekford and Bob Boyd.
