Temperatures nearly match 58-year averages in Page Valley

STANLEY — Snowfall for the month of February was 0.75 inch, or 5.5 inches below the February average of 6.25 inches. Total snow for the winter of 2025-2026 was 10.75 inches. The 58-year average for total winter snowfall is 22.0 inches.

Total rain and snow melt for the month was 1.79 inches, or 0.7 inches below the February average of 2.49 inches. The wettest February was 1998, with 6.56 inches of rain and snow melt, and the driest occurred in 1977, with only 0.37 inches of rain recorded.

Temperatures for the month of February were average. The mean temperature for the month was 37.4 degrees. The 58-year average mean temperature for February is 37.3 degrees.

The average afternoon high temperature for the month was 47.3 degrees, or 0.2 degree above the 58-year average high temperature of 47.1 degrees. High temperatures for February climbed into the 70s on two days, the 60s on four days, the 50s on seven days, the 40s on five days, the 30s on eight days and only in the 20s during two days of the month. The high for the month was 71 degrees on Feb. 20.

The warmest February on record was in 1976, where the average afternoon high was 59.1 degrees. The coldest February on record was in 1979, where the average afternoon high was only 34.5 degrees.

The average daily low temperature for the month was 27.4 degrees. The 58-year average low for the month of February is also 27.4 degrees. Low temperatures for the month were down into single digits on two days, the teens on five days, the 20s on seven days, the 30s on 13 days and in the 40s on one day during the month. The low for the month was 5 degrees on Feb. 9.

The peak wind gust for the month was 48 mph on Feb. 20.

Records broken during February 2026:

• Feb. 9 — low temperature of 5 degrees; previous record of 8 degrees in 1978.
