Luray and Sperryville Telephone Company holds annual meeting

November 24, 1887 — The Luray and Sperryville Telephone Company held its annual meeting in Oriole Hall last Thursday. Fifty-five of the 60 shares of stock were represented.

The affairs of the company were found to be in a highly prosperous condition, and a dividend of 10 percent declared for the last eight months, payable in cash at Treasurer Jamison’s office.

The company at once determined to extend their lines to Elkton via Marksville, Sands, Alma, Honeyville, Ingham, Grove Hill, Milnes, Furnace No. 2 and perhaps other river points
