Monger earns first team All-State honors

Senior Marissa Monger earned first team All-State softball honors at second base. Monger batted 2-for-3 in both the state quarterfinal and semifinal games, standing as the only player in the semifinal game with Dan River with two hits on the day. The senior was also selected for the first team at second base on the All-Region B and Bull Run All-District squads.

Earning second team All-State honors were senior Kirsten Hensley at catcher, and junior first baseman Jocelyn Rinker. Hensley had a key RBI in the state semifinal against Dan River and played great defense behind the plate all season. Rinker went 3-for-3 against Nottoway in the state quarterfinal and also delivered a RBI against Dan River in the state semifinal.
