April 2, 1987 — Two Stanley residents were among the 10 trophy winners in the opening race of the Hare Scramble Series last Sunday in Ivor.

Jeff Dovel and Joey Hammer took fifth place and ninth place in the novice division of the Reddy Hole.

Mike Good, also a Stanley resident, competed but did not finish.

About 20 riders competed in seven divisions ranging from novice to senior.

Dovel and Hammer each rode Kawasakis and Good rode a Yamaha. All three competed in the novice division.

The course consisted of five laps around a seven-mile loop over soft terrain.

According to Dovel, the muddy conditions stopped several riders.
