Richard “Dick” Hunter Kilburne, 82, of Stanley, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
He was born on July 25, 1943, in Washington, D.C., and was the son of the late Richard Francis Kilburne and Jane Blackburn Kilburne.
On July 20, 1967, he married Esther Marie Carlson.
Surviving are two daughters, Judith Kelly of Tennessee, and Anne Kilburne and wife Echo of Falls Church; two sons, Theodore Kilburne of Warrenton, and Adam Kilburne and wife Jennifer of Centreville; two sisters, Linda Kilburne Batson and Katherine Kilburne; his grandchildren, Crystal Kelly and husband John Weigle, Nicole Trotter and husband Scott, Abigail McDonnell and husband Michael, Jackson Kilburne, Leora De La Vega, Justin Bridges and wife Courtney, Tyler Ward and partner Andrea, Lucinda Haessler and husband Keanu, Casey De La Vega, Joseph Kilburne, and Benjamin Kilburne; and eight great-grandchildren, Harrison James, Ryland Trotter, June Trotter, Henry McDonnell, Sawyer McDonnell, Theodore McDonnell, Violet Bridges and Harper Ward Ramirez.
He was preceded in death by his wife and grandson Brandon Kelly.
A memorial service will be planned soon.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
