Ruby H. Cubbage Hilliard Discala, 91, of Stanley, Va. passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Life Care Center Of New Market in New Market, Va. She was born on February 4, 1930, in Catlett, VA.
A funeral service will be held at New Life Gospel on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Hilliards Chapel Cemetery, in Stanley, Va. Visitation will be at New Life Gospel on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m.
She married Francis James Discala on Feb. 26, 1982, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by son Billy Cubbage and wife Cindy of Stanley, Va., son Sherman Cubbage and wife Kelly of Stanley, Va., daughter Jo Ann Cubbage and husband Philip of Rileyville, Va., grandson Bobby Painter of Shenandoah, Va. and granddaughter Sherry Webb of Stanley, Va.
She was preceded in death by her father Grafton B. Hilliard, mother Mary N. Jenkins Hilliard, daughter Anna Bell Cubbage, sister Annie Stroupe, sister Mary McDaniel, sister Naomi Shuler, brother Charles Earl Hilliard, brother Harry Hilliard, sister Alma Painter and brother Grafton Hilliard.

Ruby was a sweet lady. She always made you feel welcome at the annual Christmas dinner hosted at her son’s Sherman and his wife Kelly. She always had a smile for my grandson, Gunner.
