November 23, 1961 — A big time was had by all last Saturday night at the Luray High School gym when the DE Club sponsored a “Sadie Hawkins” Dance.

The gym was decorated appropriately with a walled cardboard well in the center as the focal point of the dance floor. Records were played for music and apple cider was sold for refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Snodgrass and Mr. and Mrs. White were chaperones.

During the intermission games were played with the following winners: sack race, Jimmy Keyser; three-legged race, Mr. Saufley and Steve Stuever; hog calling contest, Frankie Keyser.

The main attraction was the choosing of the best characters: Charles Sandross as Little Abner, Miss Donna Sedwick as Daisie Mae and Duane Stuever as the best characterization
