Age 88, Elkton, Va.
Shirley Temple Dean Meadows, 88, of Elkton, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at her home. Mrs. Meadows was born June 22, 1938 in Rockingham County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Carl Sherman Dean and Elizabeth Barton Dean.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester “Leroy” Meadows; brothers, Berlin Wayne Dean, Sherman Dean; sister, Delores Juanita Hall and infant sister, Brenda Dean.
Mrs. Meadows grew up in the Rockingham County area and enjoyed gardening and gathering Morel “Merkel” mushrooms with her husband. She and her husband were members of the Elkton Pentecostal Church for over sixty years. She worked several factories before retiring from Rockingham Sleepware in Elkton. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Meadows is survived by her sons, Terry E. Meadows and wife, Tammy of Elkton, Ervin K. Meadows and wife, Rosela of Staunton; daughter, Lisa G. Meadows of Elkton, who was her loving caregiver for many years; grandchildren, Wesley Meadows, Tanya Meadows Howell, Trent Meadows and wife, Hannah, Jerrod Meadows, Destiny Meadows; great-grandchild, Judah James Meadows; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the Elkton Pentecostal Church with Pastor Eddie Byers officiating. Burial to follow at the Jollett Cemetery in Page County.
Visitation will be 1 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2026 prior to the service at the church.
