Vickie Jean Smith, 64, of Harrisonburg, VA passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the home of her niece in Shenandoah. She was born May 8, 1962 in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of the late Ray and Shelby Jean Foley Combs.
Ms. Smith was a lifetime resident of the Valley, and her family was her world. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked as a CNA for many years at Camelot Health and Rehab in Harrisonburg.
Ms. Smith is survived by her children, Perry Smith and wife, Maleasa and Tabitha Rankin and husband, Bryan; sisters, Debbie Mutherspaw, Lona Donovan and husband, Daryl Jr.; grandchildren, Rachael Rankin, Tyler Rankin, Abby Smith, Callie Smith, Bella Smith, Braylen Smith, Oaklen Smith, Malachi Blackway, Elias Blackway, Liah Blackway, Rachael Rankin; great-grandchildren, Jalen Barber, Colter Cassidy; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, who was her caregiver, Kimi Thomas, and her children, Cayleigh Carter, Rocsi Carter; her companion, Craig Smith; step-grandchildren and special fur baby “Bella”.
The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg.
A private Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026.
