Stanley’s new postmaster sworn in

November 5, 1964 — Emmett F. Good was sworn in as postmaster at Stanley, Friday, Oct. 30. He replaces W.J. Huffman who had been acting postmaster since the retirement of Postmaster E.J. Shuler in March 1963. Mr. Good was sworn in as postmaster by District Inspector John Martz of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Mr. Good, 39, was a laboratory technician for Merck & Co. at Elkton for 18 years. He has served as Mayor of Stanley for two years. Prior to that he served on the town council for four terms.

He also has served on the Page County School Board for Marksville District for a number of years and, at present, is chairman of that board.

Mr. Good is a native of Stanley. He graduated from Stanley High School in 1943.
