Thomas Glen “Bill” Comer, 92, of Shenandoah, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.
He was born July 26, 1931 in Page County and was a son of the late Samuel and Irene (Grimsley) Comer.
On May 30, 1955, he married Hazel Florence Price Comer who preceded him in death January 5, 2018. Bill and Hazel owned and operated Comer’s Water Hauling Service.
He is survived by his sons, Tom Comer and wife, Shirley, Ron Comer and wife, Trudy, Don Comer and wife, Barbara, Frank Comer; eight grandchildren, Kevin Comer and wife, Michelle, Jeremy Comer and wife, Kelly, Brandy Shifflett and husband, Ernie, Holly Layman and husband, Kevin, Francesca Troutman and husband, Scotty, Brandon Comer, Felicia Myers and husband, Tyler, and Frankie Comer; ten great-grandchildren, Felicity Comer, Charlie Troutman, Faithlyn Troutman, Allison Layman, Colton Layman, Trenton Myers, Trinity Myers, Grady Comer, Landon Shifflett and Maggie Comer.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Comer was preceded in death by a son, Richard Glen Comer; his sister, Lucille Hodnett; three brothers, David Junior Comer, Harold Comer, and Carroll Comer.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery in Comertown with Rev. James Martin, Sr. officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
