Weapons, drugs, fraud, ID theft among February’s 25 indictments

LURAY, Feb. 7 — Members of a grand jury in Page County Circuit Court issued a true bill on a total of 25 indictments handed down Wednesday, Feb. 7 on charges placed among 16 individuals.

Those indicted by the Feb. 7 grand jury include:

• Carroll Anthony Stillwell, of Stanley and Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. An offense occurring on Aug. 10, 2023, according to court records, lists his address as Shenandoah, with an arrest on Sept. 29, 2023. An offense occurring on Dec. 19, 2022, according to court records, lists his address as Stanley, with an arrest on Dec. 20, 2022. Stillwell is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 for further proceedings.

Melissa Renee Dempster, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 5 felony for delivering drugs to a prisoner. Both offenses and an arrest occurred on June 22, 2023, according to court records. Dempster is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 for a hearing.

Robert Michael Johnson, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 6 felony for possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Both offenses occurred on June 23, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Sept. 28, 2023. Johnson is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 for a four-hour trial.

Brian Robert Koon, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug, a Class 6 felony for felony weapon possession (ammunition, not gun), and a Class 1 misdemeanor for unauthorized possession of drug paraphernalia. All offenses and an arrest occurred on Dec. 13, 2023, according to court records. Koon is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 for a hearing.

Patrick Wayne Porter, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for forgery/uttering, a Class 1 misdemeanor for identity theft to defraud, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for larceny less than $1,000 (not from person). All three offenses occurred on Sept. 22, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Sept. 27, 2023. Porter is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024 for a one-day trial.

Heather Dawn McAlister, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for felony offender escape without violence and a Class 6 felony for prisoner possession of an unlawful chemical. Both offenses and an arrest occurred on Nov. 13, 2023, according to court records. McAlister is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 for a jury trial.

Daniel Matthew Watson, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 6 felony for failure to appear in court. The drug offense and an arrest occurred on Oct. 17, 2023, according to court records, while the failure to appear occurred on Feb. 7, 2024. Watson is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 to show cause.

• Jacob Robert Wilkinson, of Lyndhurst, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for obtaining money by false pretense greater than $1,000. The offense occurred on May 18, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Feb. 8, 2024 following the issuance of a capias warrant. Wilkinson was scheduled to appear in court again on Feb. 14, 2024 for a capias hearing.

• Jonathan Michael Barnette, (a.k.a Jonathon Michael Barnette), of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for nonviolent felony possession of a gun within 10 years of conviction. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 8, 2023, according to court records. Barnette is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 for a hearing.

• Tenika Desire Clark, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for destruction of property with intent (damage greater than $1,000). The offense and an arrest occurred on Oct. 21, 2023, according to court records. Clark is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 for a trial.

• Michael William Crossman, of Shenandoah, Va., received a direct indictment on an unclassified felony for a second offense of drinking while driving under a revoked license. The offense and an arrest occurred on Nov. 5, 2023, according to court records. A capias warrant was issued for Crossman’s arrest on Feb. 7.

• Crystal Susan Foltz, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for distribution or sale for profit of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Nov. 17, 2023, according to court records. Foltz is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024 for a one-day trial.

• Kyjial Tyree King, of Front Royal, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on June 1, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on June 2, 2023. King is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 for a hearing.

• Gregory Michael Knight Jr., of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 29, 2023, according to court records. Knight is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 for a hearing.

• Robert Edward Lester Jr., of Quicksburg, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Oct. 14, 2023, according to court records. Lester is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024 for a hearing.

• Joshua Robert Mook, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Oct. 4, 2023, according to court records. Mook is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 for a hearing.

Grand jury hearings are held the first Wednesday of each month in Page County Circuit Court.
