LURAY, Oct. 18 — On Tuesday, Luray Middle School eighth grader Maya Jenkins captured her third-straight district championship in cross country at the New Market Battlefield. The victory caps off a perfect record of district titles for each year at LMS, as well as going undefeated against district competition during the regular season.
According to her coach, this is believed to be the first time a middle school runner from LMS has won three-straight district titles in cross country.
Other LMS top ten finishes at the district competition include Brylee Painter (3rd place) and Ryan Patterson (9th place).
