LURAY — Luray High School sophomore Davey Johnson capped off a great season with a great finish on Saturday as the state runner-up at the VHSL Class 2 cross country championships at Green Hill Park in Salem.
Johnson finished second among 101 runners in the boys Class 2 state cross country championship with a time of 16:38.95. For his second-place finish, the sophomore earned All-State honors.
Johnson captured the Bull Run District and Region B cross country titles before heading off to the state championships on Saturday. He also set school and course records this season.
