Texas

Page Valley News highlights adoptable pets

from the Page County Animal Shelter to showcase their personality.

This is Texas!

Yee-haw! This is Texas, but we like to call him Texas Pete, Tex, Tex-Mex, or Big Red! He is an approximately 2-3 year old, orange tabby male. He found his way to the shelter after he was reported to animal control by a concerned citizen. Poor Tex-Mex was in rough shape. He had a heck of a cold and was covered in nicks and scratches. He is still recovering, but he is looking and feeling better each day.

Tex is a happy cat who doesn’t have much to complain about. He spends most of his day hanging out and napping. When he hears you enter the room, he’ll start to meow for your attention. He’s happy to meet you halfway when you go to pet him and he’ll headbutt your hand. He’s quite affectionate and loves to sprawl out when he naps.

Sometimes when you go to reach for his food bowl or go to put your hands under him to pick him up, he’ll turn his head around to see what you’re doing, but hasn’t done anything more than that. Overall, Tex is a big doofus who’s looking for a new place to sleep the day away.

If you’d like to get to know more about this rodeo clown,

please send the shelter an email inquiry or call the Page County Animal Shelter at (540) 778-2101. Please keep an eye out for our email reply. Sometimes they find their way to the spam/junk folder.
