NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
LURAY PLANNING COMMISSION
SPECIAL USE PERMIT & REZONING REQUESTS
NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to § 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, that Luray’s Planning Commission will hold public hearings on July 16, 2025, at 7 p.m. The public hearings will be conducted in the Luray Town Council Chambers located at 45 East Main Street in the Town of Luray, Virginia.
Public comment may also be submitted until 12 noon on July 16, 2025, through any of the following means: Email: bchrisman@townofluray.com; Mail: Luray Town Manager, Post Office Box 629, Luray, Virginia, 22835; Hand delivery: Place in the exterior DROP BOX in the alcove located at the front of the Town’s offices facing Main Street; or Phone: (540)743-5511. All comments must include the commentor’s name and address to be read aloud at the hearing. This hearing will be live streamed on the Town’s Website Live Stream Link. All normal Rules of Procedure will be followed.
The purpose of the hearings is to receive public comments and to consider the following:
SUP25-001
The applicant, Carol Green, has requested a Special Use Permit to construct a manufactured home on the parcel adjacent to 9 Hilltop Lane in the R-3 Zoning District. The manufactured home will occupy approximately 1,041 square feet of the subject parcel, which is roughly 10,062 square feet in area and identified on the Page County Tax Maps as Tax Map No. 42A3-A-44. A Special Use Permit is required to construct a manufactured home in the R-3 Zoning District per Town Code Appendix A, Article IV, Sec. 403.2(e).
RZ25-001
The applicant, Great Southern Land Developers, LLC, has requested to rezone the parcel located at 62 Carillon Drive from M-1 (Limited Industrial) to B-1 (Business) for commercial development. The subject parcel is roughly 84,114 square feet in area and identified on the Page County Tax Maps as Tax Map No. 42A9-A-10.
Copies of the Special Use Permit and Rezoning applications, as well as the Town’s zoning ordinance are available at the Town of Luray’s Office, 45 East Main Street, Luray, Virginia. These items may be viewed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday – Friday and may also be found online at the Town’s website www.townofluray.com.
