Service award given to farm agent

February 11, 1965 — Page County Farm Agent Walter L. Saunders Jr. was named the county’s most outstanding young man of the year Friday night by the Luray Junior Chamber of Commerce.

The presentation of the award was made at the JC’s annual awards banquet held at the Luray Fire Hall. In presenting the Distinguished Service Award to Mr. Saunders, Jaycee president Lynn Fox commended:

“This young man is truly deserving of the award, not just for his outstanding contributions to civic, fraternal and religious affiliations, but for the daily service he renders to the entire county.”
