Six county athletes selected for All-Region hoops team

Region 2B of the Virginia High School League has announced All-Region honors for the 2020-21 basketball season. Among the first-team basketball selections are three Panthers and two Bulldogs, with a total of six county athletes being named among the 32 All-Region 2B honorees.

Page County senior Canaan Pierce and junior Ricky Campbell earned first team honors on the boys All-Region team, while Luray senior Brynlee Burrill and junior Emilee Weakley, along with Page County senior Taylor Hankins, were first-team picks for the girls All-Region squad.

In addition, LHS junior Emilee Weakley was named the Region 2B “Player of the Year” in girls basketball, while East Rockingham’s Tyler Nickel earned the same honor for boys basketball.
