August 4, 1911C.T. Long, one of the most prominent farmers of the county, had a very surprising experience a few nights ago.

About 10 or 11 o’clock he detected someone stealing his apples and fired his gun in their direction several times.

The parties decamped leaving a half-filled bag of apples behind them.

They were equipped for a big haul having a horse in waiting on the roadside to carry away the booty.

Mr. L. got near enough to recognize them.

He gives warning that the gun will be pointed with more care next time and that the aid of the law will also be invoked.
