Age 92, Luray, Va.
Mary Elizabeth Bunch, 92, of Luray, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at her childhood home.
She was born on December 3, 1931, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Isaac Randolph Dovel Sr. and Elizabeth Campbell Dovel.
Mary was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Luray and was a lifetime member of the Luray Volunteer Rescue Squad. She was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
On August 8, 1953, she married Jacob Russell Bunch, who died on November 21, 2008.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Rebecca George and husband Daniel, and Elizabeth Overend and husband Charles, all of Luray; a son, Randy W. Bunch and wife Maria of Luray; seven grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jacob R. Bunch Jr.; and a brother, Isaac Randolph Dovel Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, at the Main Street Baptist Church by Pastor Tim Scott, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. The family will also receive friends at their homes.
Burial will be in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street Baptist Church.
