JMU alone recognizes nearly 40 students from Page County

LURAY, June 29 — Colleges and universities have been reporting on spring semester graduates and honors among students from Page County for the past six weeks. PVN has collected these various reports and compiled them here.

JMU announces the following Page County students graduated with honors during May 2026 commencement exercises:

Radford University is a comprehensive public university of 7,837 students that has received national recognition for many of its undergraduate and graduate academic programs and serves Virginia and the nation through a wide range of academic, cultural, human service and research programs. Radford offers 75 bachelor’s degree programs in 47 disciplines and six certificates at the undergraduate level. A Division I member of the NCAA and Big South Conference, Radford University competes in 16 men’s and women’s varsity athletics.

Radford University released its Dean’s List for Spring 2026 — a prestigious academic recognition students receive for earning a GPA of at least 3.4 for courses not graded on a pass-fail basis, obtaining no grade lower than “C” and receiving no incomplete grades while maintaining at least 12 semester hours of coursework. Students from Page County on that list include:

Shenandoah University announces that 1,180 graduates earned degrees and/or certificates during the 2025-26 academic year, including graduates from August 2025, December 2025 and May 2026. Shenandoah’s 2026 University Commencement took place May 9 in the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics and Events Center. Among the graduates, those from Page County include:

  • Jamie Jenkins, of Luray, who earned a Nurse-Midwifery Post-Graduate Certificate.

Ohio Wesleyan University announces that Elliott Montana of Luray, VA, has been named to the 2026 spring semester Dean’s List. To earn Dean’s List recognition, Ohio Wesleyan students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale in all applicable classes.

Alisha Garrison of Shenandoah has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Spring 2026 President’s List. The spring terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

Miranda Burner of Shenandoah has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Spring 2026 Dean’s List. The spring terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
