May 19, 1887 — Fourteen U.S. prisoners passed through this place last Wednesday in charge of marshals, bound for the Albany Penitentiary. They were from Chattanooga, Tenn., and were as hard- looking a set of crime- hardened creatures as we ever saw. Among the number was one woman, and all were for terms from one to five years. Two were convicted of counterfeiting and the other 12 of illicit distilling.
