Grand jury hands down 30 indictments in March session

LURAY, March 9 — A Page County grand jury handed down 29 indictments among 13 individuals (plus one felony indictment that was sealed) during last Wednesday’s March 3 session in Page County Circuit Court , including:

Tessy B. Marston, of Luray, Va., was indicted on two felony charges for obtaining money by false pretenses in amounts greater than or equal to $200; and six misdemeanors for the same charge with amounts less than $200. All offenses occurred on May 3, 2019, according to court records, with an arrest date of Aug. 12, 2020. Marston is scheduled to appear in court again on April 21 for further proceedings.

Kendall Robert Beaty, of Luray, Va., was indicted on two felonies for carnal knowledge of a 13-14 year old without force (Class 4 felony) and filming a child under the age of 15 pornographically. The offenses occurred on Sept. 3, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Dec. 16, 2020. Beaty’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 21 for further proceedings.

Laura Ashley Thompson, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on three felony charges, including child abuse/disregard of life (Class 6), possession of a Schedule I/II drug (Class 5), and possession of a Schedule I/II drug with intent to manufacture (unclassified). The drug charges stem from an incident on July 8, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of the same. The child abuse charge occurred on Nov. 10, 2020, the records state. Thompson is scheduled to appear in court on March 24 for further proceedings.

Brian Scott Kline, of Luray, Va., was indicted for grand larceny of money or goods valued at $200 or more. The offense occurred on Sept. 26, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Oct. 23, 2020. Kline’s next court appearance is April 28 for further proceedings.

Timothy Allen Wallace, of New Market, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony charge of entering the home of someone under a protective order, and three Class 1 misdemeanors for violating a protective order. Both the offenses and arrest occurred on Oct. 15, 2020, according to court documents. Wallace is scheduled to appear in court on March 24 for further proceedings.

Robert Thomas Crossan, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two felony charges, including a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 6 felony for possessing a gun on his person while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Both offenses and the arrest occurred on Dec. 31, 2019. Crossan is scheduled to appear in court next on March 24 for further proceedings.

Christopher David Casidy, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Feb. 10, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of March 13, 2020. Casidy is scheduled to appear in court next on March 10 for further proceedings.

Kayla Lane Gander, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Feb. 22, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of Sept. 26, 2020. Gander is scheduled to appear in court again on April 14 for a status hearing.

Charles Nelson Jenkins Jr., of Culpeper, Va. was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Nov. 7, 2018, according to court documents, with an arrest date of Sept. 29, 2020. Jenkins is scheduled to return to court on May 5 for further proceedings.

William Anthony Lear, of Quicksburg, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Feb. 5, 2019, according to court documents, with an arrest date of Sept. 10, 2020. Lear’s next court date was not posted.

Logan James Lentz, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of Schedule I/II drug (marijuana) with intent to distribute greater than a half-ounce but less than five pounds; and a Class 1 misdemeanor for driving while intoxicated (drugs), first offense. The offenses occurred on May 8, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of Nov. 5, 2020. Lentz is scheduled to return to court on April 21 for further proceedings.

Michael William Morris, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for unauthorized possession of drug paraphernalia . The offense occurred on July 9, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of Nov. 30, 2020. Morris is scheduled to appear in court next on March 31 for further proceedings.

James Lee Foltz Jr., of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest occurred on July 26, 2020, according to court documents. Foltz is scheduled to appear in court next on March 31 for further proceedings.
