April 14, 1892 — The bright spring days of the past week called all to their gardens. From sunrise to sunset the “shovel and the hoe” had no reset. All nature seemed alive. Some of our busy housekeepers forgot to get hungry and most forgot to cook us anything until late.

But this morning we find a regular old- fashioned March snowstorm, and fear some of the tender plants that were transplanted will suffer.

Farmers have been busy turning under the sod.

Our school, which was conducted by Mr. J. Harvey Kemp and sister closed last Tuesday to the regret of all. We shall be very sorry to lose them from our midst. We miss the merry laughter and bright faces of the children as they gathered in from all parts to greet the kind, genial “Good Morning” of their faithful instructors, day after day.
