Grand jury issues 62 indictments against 35 individuals during July session

LURAY, July 8 — A Page County grand jury handed down 62 indictments among 35 individuals during yesterday’s July 7 session in Page County Circuit Court , including:

Dale Monroe Comer Jr., of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two Class 6 felonies related to animal fighting and one Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. One felony was charged for possessing, selling or training an animal for fighting, and the additional felony was for possession of substances with the intent of enhancing an animal for fighting. All three indictments show an offense date and arrest date of April 20, 2021. No further court dates were listed at this time.

Charles Lee Rexrode, of Broadway, Va., was indicted on two unclassified felonies on two counts of embezzlement of more than (or equal to) $200. Both offenses occurred on March 1, 2021, according to court documents. A capias warrant has been issued for Rexrode’s arrest.

Curtis Lee Sheffer Jr., of Fort Defiance, Va., was indicted on two unclassified felonies for grand larceny and a Class 1 misdemeanor for destruction of property. One larceny charge stated the amount was greater than (or equal to) $500, while the other charge did not specify an amount. The destruction of property (with intent) was valued at less than $1,000. Court documents indicate all three offenses occurred on June 18, 2020, with an arrest date of Aug. 6, 2020. A capias warrant has been issued for Sheffer’s arrest.

Shawn Patrick Thompson of Elkton, Va., was indicted on two Class 6 felonies for eluding or disregarding police and assault on a law enforcement officer. Thompson was also charged with a Class 1 misdemeanor for obstruction of justice by resisting arrest through threat or force. The two felonies occurred on June 9, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of Nov. 1, 2020. The misdemeanor allegedly occurred on June 28, 2020, with no arrest date listed. Thompson is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11, 2021 for further proceedings.

Angela Michelle Lantz, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 6 felony for the possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The indictment lists the offense date and arrest date for both charges as Nov. 17, 2020. Lantz is scheduled to appear again in court on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 for further proceedings.

James Clifford Crouse, of Shenandoah, Va., received two direct indictments on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 6 felony for the possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The indictment lists the offense date as Nov. 11, 2020, with no arrest date listed. Crouse is scheduled to appear again in court on Aug. 25, 2021 for further proceedings.

Cody Wayne Dinges, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on five counts of possession of a Schedule I/II drug, a Class 5 felony. Three of the five offenses occurred on Aug. 6, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of March 5, 2021. Among the other two charges, one occurred on June 3, 2020, with an arrest date of Feb. 17, 2021; while the other occurred on March 5, 2021, with an arrest date of May 1, 2021. No future court dates were listed at this time.

Robin Lynn Kibler, of Luray, Va., was indicted on three Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Two of the offenses occurred on May 29, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of Sept. 21, 2020. A third offense allegedly occurred on Aug. 20, 2020, with an arrest date of the same. No future court dates are listed at this time.

Samantha Marie Shenk, of Shenandoah, Va. was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and possession of a controlled substance. On the day of those indictments, Shenk was also charged with two counts of failure to appear in court, a Class 1 misdemeanor. The two drug offenses occurred on July 23, 2019, according to court records, with an arrest date of June 17, 2020. Shenk is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11.

Daniel Lee Breeden, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and possession of a controlled substance. The former offense and arrest occurred on April 6, 2021, according to court documents, while the latter charge occurred on July 19, 2019, with an arrest the next day. Breeden is scheduled to next appear in court on Aug. 18 for further proceedings.

Michael Scott Dallas, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense date for one charge is July 7, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Oct. 22, 2020. The other offense occurred on March 25, 2021, with an arrest date of the same. Dallas is scheduled to appear in court again on July 21 for further proceedings.

Desiree Joann Eppard, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for driving under a revoked or suspended license. Both offenses occurred on Oct. 9, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Oct. 17, 2020. Eppard is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11 for further proceedings.

Pamela Sue Foltz, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 4 misdemeanor for intoxication in public. According to court documents, the offense and arrest date listed for both charges is Aug. 2, 2020. No future court dates are listed at this time.

Olivia Dawn Meadows, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Both offenses occurred on May 30, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of March 9, 2021. Meadows is scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday, July 28 for further proceedings.

Amber Lynn Nesselrodt (a.k.a. Amber Lynn Runion), of Luray, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. One offense occurred on Aug. 5, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest on the same date. The other offense occurred on July 2, 2020, with an arrest date of Nov. 2, 2020. Nesselrodt is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11 for further proceedings.

Sasha K. Porter, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest date listed in court documents for both charges is Nov. 16, 2020. Porter is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11 for further proceedings.

Cody Dwayne Shuler, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. One offense and arrest occurred on May 7, 2021, according to court records, while the other offense and arrest occurred on June 6, 2021. Shuler is scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 for further proceedings.

Phillip Lee Vaughn Jr., of Rileyville, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest date listed in court records for both charges is Nov. 5, 2020. No future court dates are listed at this time.

Cassie Danielle Weakley, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense date listed in court records for both charges is Feb. 4, 2020, with an arrest date for both of Sept. 18, 2020. No future court dates are listed at this time.

Tyrone Maurice Williams, of Luray, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for distributing or selling for profit a Schedule I/II drug, and received direct indictment of a Class 1 misdemeanor for possession of a cannabimimetic agent. The distribution charge and arrest occurred on Nov. 16, 2020, while the misdemeanor occurred on Aug. 29, 2020, with no arrest date listed. Williams is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11 for further proceedings.

James Michael Alger, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on May 27, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Oct. 25, 2020. Alger is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11 for further proceedings.

Danielle Campbell Atkins, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on June 1, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 13, 2020. No future court date is listed at this time.

Donald Lee Campbell Jr., of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on July 25, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Sept. 27, 2020. No future court date is listed at this time.

Christopher Allen Cook, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on May 2, 2021, according to court records, with no arrest date listed. Cook is scheduled to appear in court again on Sept. 1 for a status hearing.

Jason Deavers, of Luray, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Nov. 5, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 6, 2020. Deavers is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 18 for further proceedings.

Christopher David Dovel, of McGaheysville, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Aug. 3, 2019, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 29, 2020. Dovel is scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday, July 14 for further proceedings.

Brendan John Keane, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for driving while intoxicated (DWI) with a prior related felony conviction. The offense and arrest occurred on Jan. 14, 2021, according to court records. Keane is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 25 for further proceedings.

Jeremy S. Moubray, of Rockingham, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on June 23, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 28, 2020. Moubray is scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday, July 14 for further proceedings.

Joey Wayne Shifflett, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 12, 2021, according to court records, with an arrest date of April 29, 2021. Shifflett is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11 for further proceedings.

Katelyn Adrianna Shifflett, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 24, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Sept. 21, 2020. No future court date is listed at this time.

Dustin Scott Tharp, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Nov. 10, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Dec. 4, 2020. Tharp is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 25 for further proceedings.

Heather Christine Tiller, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest occurred on June 23, 2020, according to court records. Tiller is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 11 for further proceedings.

Mark Allen Weaver, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on June 14, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Feb. 24, 2021. Weaver is scheduled to appear in court again on Sept. 8 for further proceedings.

Jennifer Denise Wright, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on July 21, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Aug. 20, 2020. Wright is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 18 for further proceedings.

Michael Todd Young, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on May 24, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 3, 2020. Young is scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday, July 14 for further proceedings.

Monthly grand jury hearings are held the first Wednesday of each month in Page County Circuit Court.
