Grand jury hands down 47 indictments against 28 individuals in May session

LURAY, May 11 — A Page County grand jury handed down 47 indictments among 28 individuals during last Wednesday’s May 5 session in Page County Circuit Court , including:

Waitus Lovey Huffman Jr., of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for the abuse of a child with disregard for life and an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. The offense date for both cases was listed as Oct. 20, 2020 in court documents, with an arrest date of Nov. 6, 2020 for the child abuse charge and Oct. 21, 2020 on the drug charge. Huffman is scheduled to appear in court again on May 26 for further proceedings.

Gregory Allen Foster, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on three felony charges, including a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug, a Class 6 felony (direct indictment) for felony possession of a weapon (ammunition – not gun), and an unclassified felony for accepting advance payment without performing related construction work (valued at more than $200). The offense and arrest date for all three charges was listed as Oct. 15, 2020. in court records. No future court dates were listed.

Brandon David Wells, of New Market, Va., was indicted on two felonies and four misdemeanor charges for credit card fraud and a weapons violation. Wells was charged with a Class 6 felony for non-violent felony possession of a gun within 10 years, and an unclassified felony for obtaining a credit card number to commit larceny. He was also charged with four Class 1 misdemeanors, including pointing or brandishing a firearm and three counts of credit card fraud in amounts less than $200 over six months. The offense date for all six charges was listed as Dec. 19, 2020 in court documents, while the arrest date was Dec. 23, 2020. Wells plead guilty on May 5 to all six charges and was sentenced that day. For the felony charge for credit card larceny, he received a sentence of 3 years in the penitentiary with 2 years, 7 months suspended. For non-violent felony possession of a gun, he received a 3-year sentence in the penitentiary with all 3 years suspended. All four misdemeanor charges drew a sentence of 12 months in jail, with 12 months suspended. All six charges came with 3 years of supervised probation upon release.

Jessica Higgs Good, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor (direct indictment) for shoplifting or altering merchandise valued at less than $200. A second drug charge was withdrawn. Both the offense date and the arrest date for both charges was listed as Aug. 12, 2020 in court records. Good is scheduled to appear in court again on June 16 for further proceedings.

Benjamin Lopez Jr., (no address listed), was indicted on a Class 6 felony for strangulation or wounding with an injury resulting, and an unclassified felony for obtaining a credit card number to commit larceny. Both the offense date and arrest date for both charges was listed as Dec. 23, 2020 in court documents. Lopez plead guilty to both charges on May 5 and was sentenced that day. For strangulation, he received a 3-year prison sentence, with 2 years and 7 months suspended. For credit card larceny, he received an additional 3-year prison sentence, with all 3 years suspended. Both judgments came with an additional 3 years of supervised probation upon release.

David Scott Jones, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for pettit larceny of less than $200. The drug offense occurred on Aug. 13, 2020, according to court documents, while the larceny offense occurred on Aug. 8, 2020. The arrest date for both charges is listed as Aug. 13, 2020. Jones is scheduled to appear in court again on June 9 for further proceedings.

John Anthony Anderson II, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for eluding or disregarding police and a Class 1 misdemeanor for driving while under a revoked or suspended license. The offense date and arrest date for both offenses is listed as Oct. 30, 2020 in court records. Anderson is scheduled to appear in court again on Sept. 1 for pretrial proceedings.

Raechel Elizabeth Ann Chacon, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug and an unclassified felony for distributing or selling for profit a Schedule I/II drug. The possession offense occurred on Jan. 21, 2020, with an arrest date of Sept. 28, 2020, according to court documents. The offense date and arrest date for the distribution charge is listed as Sept. 29, 2020. Chacon is scheduled to appear in court again on June 9 for further proceedings.

Amy Marie Campbell, of Luray, Va. was indicted on three Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Two counts occurred on March 15, 2021, with the same arrest date, according to court records. One count occurred on Aug. 6, 2020, with an arrest date of March 15, 2021. Campbell is scheduled to appear in court again on May 25 for a status hearing.

Pricilla Candace Fox, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on three Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Two counts occurred on Dec. 5, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of Feb. 19, 2021. One count occurred on April 15, 2021, with the same arrest date. Fox is scheduled to appear in court again on May 19 for further proceedings.

Joby Gene Chu, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for felony possession of a weapon (ammunition – not gun). The offense and arrest dates are listed as Feb. 28, 2021, in court documents. No future court date is listed.

Logan Scott Beasley Roudabush, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense date and arrest date listed for both counts in court records is July 24, 2020. Beasley Roudabush is scheduled to appear in court again on July 14 for further proceedings.

Autumn Renee Morris, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense date listed for both counts in court records is July 8, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 11, 2020. Morris is scheduled to appear in court again on June 9 for further proceedings.

Thomas Wilson Beaghan, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for manufacturing or distributing a Schedule I/II drug (third or subsequent offense). The offense and arrest date listed in court documents is Oct. 6, 2020. Beaghan is scheduled to appear in court again on May 26 for further proceedings.

Otho Glen Bowles (AKA- Deno), of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest date listed in court documents is Oct. 6, 2020. Bowles is scheduled to appear in court again on June 2 for further proceedings.

Vanessa Brooke Chrisman, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Nov. 7, 2019, according to court records, with an arrest date of May 17, 2020. Chrisman is scheduled to appear in court again on May 19 for a status hearing.

Terry Lee Dodson II, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Sept. 14, 2020, according to court documents, with an arrest date of March 21, 2021. Dodson is scheduled to appear in court again on May 25 for further proceedings.

Taylor Renee Good, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest occurred on Oct. 28, 2020, according to court records. Good is scheduled to appear in court again on May 19 for further proceedings.

Jacob Ryan Knight, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Oct. 24, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of April 1, 2021. Knight is scheduled to appear in court again on May 19 for a bond hearing.

Wesley Aaron Mitchell, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Nov. 2, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 3, 2020. Mitchell is scheduled to appear in court again on June 2 for further proceedings.

Jeremy Allen Montcalm, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on May 25, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Oct. 4, 2020. Montcalm is scheduled to appear in court again on June 16 for further proceedings.

Sara Rebecca Painter, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest occurred on July 31, 2020, according to court records. Painter is scheduled to appear in court again on May 19 for a hearing.

Ashley Shifflett, of Timberville, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Feb. 27, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Oct. 20, 2020. Shifflett is scheduled to appear in court again on July 14 for further proceedings.

Paul Mason Shifflett, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a controlled substance. The offense occurred on May 12, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of May 18, 2020. Shifflett is scheduled to appear in court again on May 26 for further proceedings.

Wanda Jane Taylor, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest occurred on Aug. 1, 2020, according to court records. Taylor is scheduled to appear in court again on July 21 for further proceedings.

Chasitie Diane Tharp, of Floyd, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest occurred on July 30, 2020, according to court records. Tharp is scheduled to appear in court again on May 19 for further proceedings.

Dennis Wayne Whetzel Jr., of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Sept. 21, 2020, according to court records, with an arrest date of Sept. 22, 2020. Whetzel is scheduled to appear in court again on June 16 for further proceedings.

Matthew Richard Sours, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and arrest occurred on July 31, 2020, according to court records. Sours is scheduled to appear in court again on May 25 for further proceedings.
