By Randy Arrington

LURAY, June 24 — This week we visit with Luray Police Chief Bow Cook to talk about his 30 years in law enforcement and the announcement of his upcoming retirement on July 1. We’ll discuss his career and reminisce over tough moments like a grueling murder investigation in Shenandoah and the tension in Luray during the George Floyd marches.

We’ll say goodbye to the county’s third police chief in the last 10 months. Cook’s retirement marks the end of an era, and we take this opportunity to honor his service and talk about the challenges of law enforcement across the years.

(Page Valley Livin’~Episode 121 was recorded Tuesday, June 23, and aired Wednesday, June 24, 2026).

Coming up on Page Valley Livin’… we’ll celebrate the 4th of July in Page County, which promises plenty of food, fun and fireworks.

The aim and purpose of these videos is to provide more information about more things that make up the wonderful place we call the Page Valley of Virginia. Serious issues will be handled seriously, while lighter issues may offer more opportunity to have some fun. There is no theme or agenda other than promoting the Page Valley, and trying to better inform the people who both live here and those who love to visit.
