Year-to-date rainfall dips just below 58-year average

STANLEY — The total rain for the month was 3.64 inches, or 0.42 inch below the June average of 4.06 inches. The calendar year-to-date rainfall total is 19.01 inches, or 0.37 inch below average. The wettest June on record was in 1972 with 11.02 inches. The driest occurred during 1999, with only 0.82 inches of rain recorded.

Temperatures for the month of June were near average. The mean temperature for the month was 72.8 degrees. The 58-year average mean temperature for June is 72.1 degrees.

The average afternoon high temperature for the month was 83.6, or 0.2 degrees above the average high temperature of 83.4 degrees. High temperatures for June climbed into the 90s on four days, the 80s on 19 days and into the 70s on seven days during the month. The high for the month was 94 degrees on June 12.

The average daily low temperature for the month was 62.1 degrees, or 1.3 degrees above the average low temperature of 60.8 degrees. Low temperatures for the month were down into the 40s on one day, the 50s on nine days, the 60s on 16 days and in the 70s on four days during the month. The low for the month was 47 degrees on June 3.

The warmest June dates back to 1973 with an average high temperature of 88.3 degrees. The coolest June on record was in 1982 and 2003 with an average high temperature of only 79.3 degrees.

The peak wind gust for the month was 39 mph during a thunderstorm on June 12.

No records were broken during June 2026.
