LURAY — Luray High School’s Jaidyn McClung had a pretty big week between March 23-28, with two big announcements in two different sports over a six-day period.

On Thursday, March 23, the Virginia High School League announced that the Luray senior had earned All-State honors in girls basketball for a third time, with a second team spot this season despite the fact that the Bulldogs exited the Region B tournament in the quarterfinal round to rival Page.

On Tuesday, March 28, McClung signed her letter of intent to play volleyball at Bridgewater College. A number of D-III schools in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference were seeking McClung’s talents in basketball, volleyball and track. With more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs, the Luray senior will go down with Sarah Getz, Sable Ponn and others, as being among the best to ever play volleyball for the Bulldogs.

Now, coming off an All-State finish in track and field during her junior year, McClung looks to get back to the VHSL Class 2 Track and Field championships this spring.
