Weekly YouTube show dives into various issues, sites and events in the Page Valley

LURAY, Sept. 2 — This week we visit Cooter’s in the Valley just west of Luray to pay tribute to “Dukes of Hazzard” star Ben Jones, who passed away at his Rappahannock County home on Aug. 9, 2026. The weekend was scheduled as a Birthday Bash Aug. 28-30 for Jones, who would have turned 85, and Sonny Shroyer, who played “Enos” and turned 91. However, the three-day event became, in part, a Celebration of Life, as thousands descended on the Page Valley to share memories and their deepest sympathies for a beloved actor, politician, writer and businessman.
In this special episode of Page Valley Livin’, we share moments and memories of Ben Jones from fans and members of the cast, Tom Wopat (“Luke Duke”), Catherine Bach (“Daisy Duke”), Sonny Shroyer (“Enos”) and Ben’s wife, Miss Alma.

Coming up on Page Valley Livin’… we’ll visit the annual Sunflower Festival at Ralph Dean Park, and we’ll host two candidate forums to hear from those seeking seats on the Stanley Council and the Page County School Board.
The aim and purpose of these videos is to provide more information about the people, places and events that make up the wonderful place we call the Page Valley of Virginia. Serious issues will be handled seriously, while lighter issues may offer more opportunity to have some fun. There is no theme or agenda other than promoting the Page Valley, and trying to better inform the people who both live here and those who love to visit.
